1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Legado Islámico ("LIFE," "we," "us," or "our"), the official online education platform of IslamInSpanish Inc., a 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit organization headquartered at Centro Islámico, 12703 Brant Rock Drive, Alief, Houston, Texas 77082. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website at LegadoIslamico.com, including all courses, downloadable resources, live coaching sessions, cohort programs, community features, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing, registering for, or using the Service in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to users via email or through a notice on our platform. Your continued use of the Service following any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. About Legado Islámico

Legado Islámico (Legacy Institute of Faith & Education) is the online education platform of IslamInSpanish, an organization established in 2001 with the mission of making Islam accessible, relatable, and culturally relevant. Operating from the first Spanish-speaking Islamic center in the United States, IslamInSpanish provides educational resources, media content, and community support to over 1.2 million people monthly worldwide.

Legado Islámico extends this mission into the digital sphere, offering a sacred space where Muslims of all backgrounds can deepen their faith, bridge their cultural identity with their practice, and build their own unique Islamic legacy.

3. Eligibility and Age Requirements

3.1 Age Requirement

The Service is intended for individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. By accessing or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18.

3.2 COPPA Compliance

In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

3.3 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Services Offered

Legado Islámico offers a variety of educational services, including but not limited to:

  • Cohort-based programs

4.2 Community Features

The Service includes community features such as:

4.3 Modifications to Services

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

5. Payments, Subscriptions, and Refund Policy

5.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through our platform's integrated payment system (Kajabi Payments, powered by Stripe). By making a purchase, you agree to provide accurate and complete payment information.

5.2 Subscription Services

Certain features of the Service may be offered on a subscription basis. Subscriptions will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel prior to the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

5.3 Refund Policy

ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL. Due to the digital nature of our products and services, all sales of courses, downloadable resources, live coaching sessions, cohort programs, and subscriptions are non-refundable. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and agree that you are not entitled to a refund for any reason.

5.4 Exceptions

In exceptional circumstances, refund requests may be considered at our sole discretion. To request a review, contact us at [email protected] within seven (7) days of purchase.

6. Donations

6.1 Voluntary Contributions

Donations made through the Service are voluntary contributions to support the mission of IslamInSpanish Inc. Donations may be made as one-time gifts or recurring monthly contributions.

6.2 Tax-Deductibility

IslamInSpanish Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Donors are responsible for determining the tax implications of their contributions and should consult a tax professional for guidance.

6.3 Donation Refunds

Unlike purchases, donation refunds may be requested within thirty (30) days of the transaction by contacting [email protected]. Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

7. User Conduct and Community Guidelines

7.1 Community Standards

Legado Islámico is designed to be a welcoming, respectful environment for Muslims of all backgrounds. By participating in our community features, you agree to engage with kindness, respect, and a commitment to constructive dialogue.

7.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Engage in spamming, phishing, or fraudulent activity
  • Upload viruses or malicious code
  • Violate the intellectual property rights of others
  • Use the Service for commercial purposes without authorization
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service

7.3 Moderation Rights

We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, edit, or remove any content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate. We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate community guidelines.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

All content available through the Service—including but not limited to courses, videos, audio recordings, written materials, downloadable resources, graphics, logos, and software—is the exclusive property of IslamInSpanish Inc. or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 Limited License

Upon purchase or enrollment, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and view the content for your personal, non-commercial use. This license does not include the right to:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display the content
  • Modify or create derivative works
  • Resell or commercially exploit the content
  • Share account access with others

8.3 User-Generated Content

By posting content in community features (comments, forums, discussions), you grant IslamInSpanish Inc. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content in connection with the Service. You retain ownership of your original content but agree that we may use it for promotional and operational purposes.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ISLAMINSPANISH INC., ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless IslamInSpanish Inc., its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Any content you submit through the Service

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13.2 Arbitration

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Harris County, Texas, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.

13.3 Class Action Waiver

YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification.

15.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and IslamInSpanish Inc. regarding your use of the Service.

15.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may freely assign or transfer these Terms without restriction.

15.5 Notices

Any notices provided by IslamInSpanish Inc. under these Terms will be given by posting to the Service or via email to the address associated with your account.
